The canoe and kayak race season keeps San Marcos river busy with paddlers either training or racing. The race season starts with the San Marcos River Relays in mid-April, followed by the Zedler Mill Classic, the Texas Water Safari Junior, Martindale Tri and the December Solo. The second Saturday of June marks the start of the 265 mile Texas Water Safari which covers the entire San Marcos River, the lower Guadalupe River and then crosses San Antonio bay to finish in Sea Drift, TX.
